Dan Savage started the It's Gets Better Project in response to queer teen suicides. He created the first video with his partner for youth with the message that things get better, so don't kill yourself. Then, he encouraged other people to make and post videos.
Everyone from President Obama to Kate Borestein, and all kinds of regular gays, lesbians, queers, bisexuals, transgenders, etc. folks offered support and encouragement to young people being bullied.
